Quetiapine stopped working at 50mg after about a week. My pdoc won't give me benzos and even though I don't feel manic he keeps saying it's underline maina that's causing the insomnia (I hope he's right). Today he said I need to start taking seroquel (generic version) at 150mg I recently was trying 100mg and it didn't work so I pray this finally gives me sleep. Also will the severe dry mouth side effect last forever?

The higher the dosage less sedating for seroquel. That being said 150mg is a small dose so hopefully it will help you sleep.

I didn't take it long enough for it to go away. I'm sure it will for you. Hopefully soon.

Seroquel becomes less sedating at around 300mg. Good luck with your 150, I hope it gives you rest.

150 mg will knock me right out. I usually take 100mg and sleep pretty good. My Pdoc gave me permission to up the dose to 150 when I'm feeling manic or stressed out. Unfortunately for me the dry mouth never went completely away. It does get better though.
