I did some psych nurse conferences in the past, where I went onstage and talked about my trip through life with bipolar. I've been asked to do similarly, but about my times being misdiagnosed and the missed diagnosis. This round is in front of students! I'm in for sure. If my insanity can help one person, it's completely worth the nervousness and anxiety. Rock on

I admire your openness about your illness! I think that misdiagnosis speech could be interesting.

Remember that misdiagnoses don't only happen in mental health, but in physical health too. So I think such a speech could apply to both mental *and* physical health, even if you're only talking about mental health specifically. It's about the journey, the perseverance. It's about getting well and knowing when to not give up. And even broader, we can interpret this journey as determination in general.

So I do think your speech could help a lot of people if you look at it from different perspectives. Plus, I think it helps with the stigma in general. Stigma arises from mosunderstandings (or ignorance), so you can educate them to stop it from happening!

I believe there will be a q&a too, as was before. That's the hardest part. I'm very open and honest to the point of being a little blue in speech. I try to curtail those words and phrases and choose more useful ones, but these are students who will definitely not be offended by relatively any words I use

I'm slowly writing my biography, with full detail and everything involved. It's not going to be pretty at all, but will be free to the mental health field and not for sale otherwise. I also include an insight, as I have them, after each major event. An example is the first time I was suicidal at a very young age, and was punished for "throwing a fit." At the time, I knew I was "sick" but had no idea what kind of sick of how to convey what I was feeling. I then analyze that experience with the patterns of behaviors being obvious now that I'm an adult

As long as my family never sees it. As long as they don't know it's me, but if they read it they will
