Yes, piri ran fast from Miami to Ft Myers and then back to Miami. Metereologist (sp) I hate them.
All the time carrying 90 Paxil pills, just in case. I was very calm and resigned to lose one of the houses, but it wasn't meant to be.
Piri is alive and dry. No serious damage anywhere. A few branches and a few screens broken. Piri has always being very lucky with all his disgraces.
I'm sure you all wanted to know. Tata.

That must've been scary. Glad you're ok though!

Also glad to hear there was no major damage done to your house.

I don't like meteorologists either.

It worked out well for us biggest gust we got was only 91mph. It could have been way worse.

Glad you are safe, and glad a meteorologist let you know leaving Ft. Myers was a good idea!

That's wonderful! Sounds like you expected Piri to be a total loss. Do you feel guilt?

Power is coming back bit by bit and so are a few stores. I would say about 30% of Martin County still has no power. We still have a curfew though hopefully that will be lifted soon.

Just got electricity back about 4 hours ago. But air conditioning still out in my building n it's still hot to me. Hopefully they can get it fixed soon. I live in a highrise apartment on a higher floor n on the side that got the worst of the winds, but m fine now. Interesting in that my cat followed me everywhere I moved around in the apartment starting 3 days before the storm.

Glad to hear things are slowly returning to normal, Guiness & neverending. I realize there are many things yet to be done, & some folks have lost everything, but the manic side of me wonders if, in retrospect, Irma was an adrenaline rush...Probably a rude question.

Having trouble getting to sleep. Just took another quarter of a sleeping pill. No, I found going through that hurricane and time without electricity utterly exhausting but my sleep was very poor. Since I have been stable for quite a few months now, n still having trouble getting to sleep, I m hoping I don't go hypomanic and start flipping moods again. I long for my days to get back into a regular routine again.

I'm sorry, neverending. I never considered how the storm might affect one's emotional well-being in that regard. As I wrote, "Probably a rude question." I hope you feel stable & rested soon.

It's going to take a few days catching up on rest. Air conditioning back on again. While I was out buying replacement refrigerator food, cat food, n towels so I can take a bath again, got a ride from a nearby friend, my pdoc called. I had completely forgotten about my appointment. That's ok, there is no bus service until tomorrow, so I couldn't have gotten there even if I had remembered. He totally understand and will fit my in. Told him I was too tired to figure it out today. So we will figure it out later. It will be so relieving just to get back into my regular life. Everyone around here is exhausted. We all want it to be back to normal. And we didn't experience the worst of it.

I m elderly. Maybe younger people might have found it exciting.
