When people why I have a dog and two cats, all of who are special needs, I tell them that it gives my life schedule and order. It used to be that was the most important thing they did, now I find they are what keeps me from doing anything to harm myself. I think if I wasn’t here tomorrow and I stop thinking who would take care of them and all their specific likes and dislikes. They are very special and require special attention to make sure they remain healthy.

I am in a sick mixed episode because I am missing half my meds due to insure reasons. Surprisingly the CBD I am trying as a last stitch effort is helping with the voices. Even so, I am very depressed but restless enough that I need to do something right now to fix it. I just couldn’t leave my boys though, no one knows them like I do and knows what they like and need.

I have a dog that keeps me going, too, so I can relate to your situation. Can't you try to get meds somehow? Help from social services, or perhaps from the drug companies themselves? I fear that going without your meds will put you and your boys' safety in jeopardy. Please call your local human services department to try to talk to someone about receiving help with the system. Keep us posted.

I will have insurance again in like a week, I just have no clue how long it will take me to find a new doctor. There are tons of psychiatrists around here because t probably 95% deal with behavioral health, maybe a few work with dual diagnosis, but I am not in recovery and have a serious mental illness so it is hard to find a doctor.

I have had two offices that were not behavioral health tell me they were not equipped to treat someone with my type of diagnosis.

I do not look after my cat as much as I should. However, if anything were to happen to my cat, that would be a really bad tine for me. My cat does depend on me. I do not know what would hapoen to it if I was no longer around. I do not want that day to happen. It it very good that you have your animals. They are part of your family.

Your dogs sound very special. They are your babies. I hang on to take care of my daughter and a special cat.

I do hope your med situation gets worked out. Hang in there

I'm glad you have your pets to love and care for. I'm sure they love and appreciate you just as much as you do them.

It's great that you have your pets to give you purpose. My cat and dog are comforting to me as well. Hopefully you'll find a pdoc and get your meds straightened out soon.

My pets keep me focused and give me purpose when I'm in the worst way. All animals really...my *outside* activities involve animal rescue, shelter work, TNVR, etc.
Sorry to hear about your meds situation! I'm jacked right now too and it's not going so well...

I just lost my little Jack Russell, her name was Kentucky and she died right next to my husband on the couch. He said she had a sip of water and then stiffened out her legs and passed on. I was taking my sister to the doctor so I was unable to be there which still makes me cry. We buried her in the backyard with a homemade cross that my daughter and her boyfriend made.
I'm thankful she went quickly and at home though.
I still have my springer spaniel, Harley, who is right by my side almost every minute of the day.

I'm happy to hear so many getting great support from their pets! Very cool!
