Do you think missing just one pill can really throw you off OR when you take one pill that is a lower dose than normal, but then resume your normal meds??

Last night, I took half of the dose of Seroquel that I normally take, because I took Klonopin too and knew I'd have to wake up early, so I did not want to be like a zombie or completely drowsy. I was able to sleep. However, my mood is terrible....so much worse than it has been. The last week I felt this bad was a week ago, although I was starting to decline again yesterday, but I didn't take less Seroquel on that day.

Basically, I am wondering if skipping or taking a lower dose of meds on a particular day could really mess with your mood, or maybe my worsening of depression/anger, and mood becoming a mixed state has nothing to do with the slip up of not taking the full dose?

I find that if I miss certain of my meds, it can be a disaster, but with others I can stand it until it's time for the next dose. What messes me up may not be what messes you up. YMWV.

And I also keep a secondary "reserve" stash on hand in case I can't get to the pharmacy in time. I build it up by renewing prescriptions early. Makes it harder to skip because I ran out.

If I'm REALLY at an extreme, I'll try to scrounge up the biggest dose of what I'm missing from the odds and ends I have left over, but that utterly sucks. It's a pitiful state to be in.

I'm sure it depends on a lot of variables...I've sometimes found myself in a similar situation, but the results aren't always the same. I'd say the best you might do is ask your pdoc. A pharmacist might be able to help, but probably not with as a great a degree of certainty.

It could have effected you.....I'd ask your doc. Also, benzos can make some people depressed and irritable too so if you don't usually take them, it might have added. Whatever the cause, I hope you find a solution and feel better soon.

Usually one dose here and there doesn't " typically" cause problems based on the half life of meds.

I take two APs at night, and believe me, if I don't take them I don't sleep, and am a wreck the next day.

I spoke with a friend who is a pharmacist. She said some people feel bad missing their Seroquel due to missed sleep, but my sleeping patterns wereally the same since I took half the dose and smaller doses still cause sedation.....so she thinks probably something is going on other than just that.
