Hi everyone new here. I 've struggled with anxiety and depression for a long time and I am currently being assessed for bipolar

So I have my appointment tomorrow after I 've seen mental health nurse and started quetanpine 3 months ago and I am so anxious !
I have no idea what to expect I waffled for 3 hours when I 've seen the nurse and she said it's very clear I was manic, I was probably telling her things she didn't need to know.

I got a mood diary I tried to keep but what else can I expect? One part of me thinks he ll think I'm wasting his time and overreacting and other part I hope I can get diagnosis of some sort and that I need help.
Also how open are you with doctors?

I got the job that I love but if I am labelled as bipolar I'll have to declare it and that plays on my mind too.
Sorry for the waffle my brain is in the overdrive

welcome to the forums.

the pdoc(psychiatrist)
may not be able to diagnose you after one meeting/visit.
Be as honest as possible about all areas.
This will help with his diagnosis.

He's going to want to hear as much of your story that he can time permitting.

First appt an hour, subsequent appointments 1/2 hour. They aren't therapists; talking is about your history and looking at you for symptoms.

I had to realize this after a while. I guess I thought they would want to talk more than they do.

Why do you have to declare you're bipolar for your job?

Be as honest as possible. It's going to be painful but to get the correct dx you'll need to be honest and open. Let them know you'll have to declare it. They may be able to label you something that you don't have to declare.
