lack of pediatric/adolescent IP beds. My friend had a hard time getting treatment for her child for the same reason.

They are keeping him in the hospital tonight and giving him zyprexa. Then he will be evaluated in the morning. I feel very relieved knowing he is safe tonight. Thanks to everyone for your kind words. It helped knowing I had support here.

My husband just left for the hospital. Apparently my son didn't like it too much there because when the doctor talked to him this morning my son said he was magically cured...so they are sending him home today with zyprexa. How is he supposed to work and go to school drugged up on that ****? It makes him sleep for like 17 hours! Oh well we will see. Both of my little kids were up sick most of the night and I was so worried about my oldest night before last I barely slept so I am feeling a little off. But the good news is that we got a direct phone number for my son's pdoc. So we can just talk to him personally if there are more problems. Thanks everyone for your support.

I just found out that the only reason my son is not in the psych ward is because they had no available beds. Since he came home he's been very quiet and won't talk. So I have no idea what's going on inside his head. Scary.

Sorry to hear that he's probably pretty freaked out right now too.

Kinda late to this. I understand having a child delusional. My son just got out of the hospital for homicidal thoughts last monday. He thought this girl from middle school made our cat midnight sick who was put to sleep bc of complications due to diabetes.

For my son it has always been brought on by weed. It's so tough seeing our children struggle with psychotic symptoms. I can't believe they didn't take your son's issues seriously. That's bs. Does he have a regular pdoc? So sorry you're struggling with this. feel free to pm me anytime.
Thanks for this!

Yes he has a pdoc. We just got a number to his direct line so we can finally get ahold of him if we need to, which is a relief. Sorry to hear about your son...having sick kids is very hard.

I'm sorry, I know you're probably getting tired of this thread but it helps to vent. He is much more relaxed now and talking again. We've been reading poetry together. And I think I even saw a smile!
