has anyone tried this

originally I heard it mentioned in a comedy on TV, but actually decided to have a go of it myself

so, the idea is, a reverse bucket list

in sted of writing about things you'd like to do, you write about things that you've all ready done/ all ready achieved, and that you are proud of

figured this would be a nice positive thing to do (I just hope I can think of something to add to the list, lol!)

When we only had one child ( a toddler at the time) we moved all over the place just to experience new things. We were born and raised in canada but we moved to oregon for about a year and then to Hawaii for for a little over a year. we fished, swam, tried to surf (it was HARD) enjoyed all the palm trees and even went to a nude beach more than once. Those were very fun days. I also spent 4 months in Mexico and a while in Texas...my favorite state.
Good idea for a thread!

I rafted and kayaked through the Grand Canyon and I was a professional raft guide for a while on the Arkansas River in CO. I have skied in chest deep powder and skied 30' drops. I have been in 48 states. I have been in my house when a hurricane knocked over a tree that came through the roof.

And one that is pretty unique...
Once my brother and I went hill climbing on a street sweeper (statute of limitations expired long ago)...

I appeared on this beautiful rotating rock going round and round that big burning ball of gas over yonder...

I overcame debilitating false beliefs, fears and insecurities.
I learned how to forgive the unforgivable and love the unlovable.

I'd love to try surfing at some stage. I think it might be fun

(so I don't really like the ocean, but I do love waves!)

I've been writing my bucket list, though i've been writing in all mannor of states.. some stuff on their I don't want to do at all, and some is plain stupid

like..
I really need to wrewrite it when i'm stable.

things like gamble all my money away at blackjack.

I don't wanna do that. I find card games average at the best of times.

Hmm...let's see. I've traveled a lot. I've been to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Guam, Chuck, Yap, Palau, did a honeymoon in Mexico, Vancouver, Montreal, Sweden, Berlin Germany, London England, Went to a wedding in Dublin Ireland. Walked the falls in Jamaica. While in Jamaica I ended up in a small plane with a drunk pilot. I was so scared I got drunk too.

Went sailing in Key West and swam with dolphins. Capsized a boat also in Key West. Been to the Seattle UNderground.

When I retired I took my mother on a train trip to Seattle. I stayed in a youth hostel in Seattle and got blitzed with weed. Been to the Grand Canyon and almost had a heart attack because I'm afraid of heights. Seen all the sights in New York. Go to New Orleans to party frequently. Went to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico.

On another road trip I went camping with my mom. We went to Yellowstone park. Drove through the mountains in Colorado. (Never doing that again) scariest drive of my life.

I've lived though a 9.2 earthquake and a Super typhoon Paka with the highest ground speeds ever recorded.

I went on a private plane with some friends and toured Gettysburg battlefields. I toured the JFK air craft carrier and met the Kennedy's at a memorial mass on the ship for JFK. One time In Key Key West navy seal guy trying to impress me took me out in the ocean on a Zodiac. I was more scared than impressed. I'm a land lubber.

Been to Boston and walked the Freedom Trail. Saw the Old North Church and Paul Reveres work shop.

I've gone tubing and canoeing in the Texas hill country.

Got in a knock down fight with a biker chick once. We ended up friends.

Been too a few drunken frat parties.

Yea I've lived an intersting life.

I was feeling very low one day, feeling helpless with very low self-esteem. I thought of others who have been holding down jobs, accomplishing things, and having a much fuller life than myself. So I sat down and wrote down most of my accomplishments. I looked at it and felt that all of this must of been done by another person. However, knowing better, I started to feel better.

1 of the things I keep thinking about (and I don't know why), is if I ever went on a quiz show and host asked me so what do you do?

my response is always... professional coutch potato

that's really sad

but still, I am trying to find things for my list

it's hard

but these things were never made to be easy

I sang in the local Chorale Union

I sang solo in Glee type choir

I passed my singing exams with flying colours

I achieved my Bronze Duke Of Edinburgh Award

I went to France with my school

I was social in my teenage years despite high anxieties

I make people proud of me most of the time

I worked 10 years as a volunteer looking after disabled children and young people

Probably a lot more but I can't think

Add me to the lame boring club. Too much depression to enjoy life, help others or pursue the career I always wanted.

I will keep thinking maybe I forgot something or maybe I should make my life more interesting!

I managed to take care of my bipolar/schizophrenic BPD mother who was very disabled. Others couldn’t understand it because of the way she treated me and all of the trouble — addiction, overdoses, police looking for her for things she did. People didn’t understand she could not help it. I kept her safe, sheltered, fed, and in the care of doctors, social workers, hospitals, and on public assistance for six years. I couldn’t save her in the end, but she was safe for years under my care. I managed not to jump off a cliff myself in the process!

I built a career that paid more to keep my family cared for when I found out my husband was terminal. Cancer treatment damaged his heart when he was young, and 20 years later heart failure showed up. I got him the best doctors, and as it turned out I landed him with a surgeon and hospital that was only one of three that could save his life. He lived 11 more years after that surgery. In the meantime I started working on my career and made more money to support out family—I didn’t know when he might become disabled. Anyway he was cared for and knew I would take care of our daughter.

I’ve been to Hawaii a few times. I have to say I don’t think I enjoy travel as much as others. I’m afraid to schedule anything. I could be depressed when it is time to go. I like Disneyland way more than visiting new places—I’ve been there a few times too.
