I've been feeling really terrible for the past few weeks - crying, hopelessness, daydreaming, sleeping too much, not being active at all, etc.
So I've asked for Zoloft considering I read it works well with bipolar and depression and has little side-effects.
Starting off with 50mg per day.
Plus I've raised my regular Risperidone to 2mg per day.

Has anyone come across any symptoms while using Zoloft?

The first time I was put on it it made me manic. The second time it didn't. Both times I was only on 25mg. Now I'm on 200mg and it's not making me manic at all. I'm also on a lot of other meds though.

The only symptom I've had on it is that it's put a damper on my sex life.

This may not be to helpful BUT i have read and saw Kids put on zoloft and doing somethig horrific. Killing families and strangers. But there has to be higher risk with kids and not adults. I've always been scared of zoloft but that could definitely just be me. best of luck.

A month ago I was put on Zoloft for deep depression. Due to my previous experience with antidepressants I was started on 12.5 mg a day. The agitation I felt was unbearable so it was stopped and I calmed down. I was on it 6 days.

Everyone is different though so it's worth a try. Just keep an eye on symptoms.

I’ve been on it since last Oct. I was taking Risperdal since 2012...so I’m use to the dull libido. I started out on 25mg and now I take 100mg. I have not flipped into mania. Celexa did that to me.

Everyone reacts differently... You should know how your going to react pretty quick IF its a bad reaction.

I hope it works for you and your feeling better really soon.

Christine is correct. Everyone's experience of Zoloft will be different. Give it a good try. I hope it helps you.

Thanks for the responses!
I'll keep an eye out for the symptoms - so far I just feel tired after taking it.
