Went to pick up my son's Focalin from the pharmacy only to be told my insurance is not active. My boss did something to it. I pay for it, but I guess it don't get to have coverage. So I don't know what I am going to do. Not take meds, I guess.

Try holding off until Monday before you get too upset. It might be some administrative problem.

He said it won't be fixed for at least 2 weeks, and then we are changing insurances again. And once that happens, I'm not sure if they'll cover the meds we are one, or if I can afford the copays, or if my son's pdoc will be in-network. He tries to be cheap every year, and I tend to get screwed over this time every year.

Could you apply for Patient Assistance and just bypass all this headache?

I think I probably make too much. I seem to be on that income level where I struggle but yet qualify for zero help.

Patient assistance programs are really nice about making exceptions. I get a few meds through assistance despite having Med D and sometimes making over the limit. I just write a letter and include it with my application explaining my special circumstances and they have always approved it.

For generics Rx Outreach | Patient Assistance Program, Discount Prescription Drugs can save you a lot of money. I used them when I was uninsured and they saved me with one med that I absolutely have to have for a physical problem but which was very expensive elsewhere.

This is that time of year -- enrollment time. DH and I went over our new benefits and, wow, it just keeps getting worse.

I am sorry you are going through this.
You and your son both need access to prescribed meds.
