It's that time of the year. Summer to fall. I seem to go manic in the fall. I get depressed for a while and then get amped up.

Sometimes I hate bipolar.

I love the fall time of the year. But winter depresses me.
But today I seem to manic so maybe it's the change in weather I don't know. All I know is I went to bed depressed woke up at 3am and have been busy cleaning house all night. And I can't wait for everyone to wake up so I can cook a big breakfast. (I usually skip breakfast and lunch.)

Do you ever LIKE bipolar. I hate it all the time. I don't like winter and always get depressed for a few days after the first cold day of the season.

I LOVE the Fall weather and gorgeous colors. While my mood lifts, generally my pain and spasticity increases with the temperature drop.

I hope all are enjoying some aspect of today!

Although fall is pretty I hate what comes after. I am miserable all winter. Well except for the holidays. I do look forward to Christmas every year. That is the only thing I like about winter.

I like fall. This year we had a cool summer, so fall isn't going to be that much different. At least it won't be like it has been, a scorcher until November when it suddenly becomes frozen.

I like spring as well. I'm cooped up during summer because I overheat easily, and winter because I freeze and sweat alternately.

August through November is a rough time for me. My last severe manic episode was during that time and I almost didn't survive it. Maybe it's hard now because of the memories, I don't know. I do know I hate this time of year.

I used to love winter, but I don't anymore. Sometimes it is beautiful and exhilarating, but shoveling my driveway is getting old. It has nothing to do with being bipolar -- just my tolerance for the cold.

I'm the same way, I love autumn but loathe the winter, which in western Oregon is nothing but gray skies and rain, interspersed with a couple of "snow events" to break up the monotony. I like the holidays and my birthday in January, but otherwise winter can go suck an egg.

I really enjoy the fall. Beautiful colors and crisp, fresh air. After daylight savings times though I get SAD on top of my severe depression. I don't look forward to that. I do like the cold weather because I am heat intolerant.

I admit to enjoying being slightly hypomanic when it is the giddy kind. With my last major med change, I thought that was going to be my new normal as I went about two months in that state. Then I crashed into the crying kind of depression, which I usually don't get. It seems my med change had an effect on both ends of the spectrum. I hated the bottom end.

Here is something interesting about your question. I am closing on 60 and have had symptoms of or diagnosed (23 years ago) bipolar disorder most of my adult life without any period of what I think stability is; I always have head fog and am either depressed or hypomanic, usually just slightly to moderately depressed. While I would love to experience life without any of the symptoms, I am not sure what that will be like anymore. Which personality is the one that sticks when I am stable? What if I am able to stabilize and never get as happy as I am when slightly hypomanic?

I seem to get a little depression at the start of most seasons, but I think that might be because I'm starting to miss the last season. Change can be a little upsetting sometimes I guess...
