I'm having a rough day and doubting myself.

How do you cheer yourself up when you have a day like this?

I'm having a day just like you are - crappy. Music helps sometimes. I have YouTube hooked up to my sound system, so maybe I'll give music a shot. When I listen in a dark room it often sets my mind at ease.

I curl up under a blanket and listen to music. Or I’ll eat something I normally wouldn’t for health reasons, like a candy bar.

I play music, turn on my wax burner (aromatherapy) and take a warm bath.

I love quizzes

their is nothing I like more than tucking in to a nice trivia quiz

A I am learning, and B, they are just fun!.

I also love surveys.

I didn't realise until recently that surveys cheered me up (but they do)

I think it's because i'm givingm y opinion, and my opinion counts- something I have always struggled with.

music to for sure. and cartoons

Yesterday was rough for me, so I can relate. A few things I did that helped me feel better:

-Taking a bath
-Doing a light workout (stretching routine)
-Meditation (I use this free website: https://app.stopbreathethink.org/)
-Played a video game I enjoy (Final Fantasy 14)
-Reading

These activities in themselves did not completely eliminate my low mood yesterday, but they certainly helped more than being in bed all day.

If the weather is nice, I walk over to the neighborhood pond and catch a few fish.

I do a few things:

- Listen to disco music (it makes me laugh).
- Take a hot shower with aromatherapy soap then turn the water to cold for the last 30 seconds.
- Watch a good movie.
- Read anything from James Patterson.
- Snuggle under a soft blanket with my cat and dog.
- Turn my Calm app music and scenery on and visualize being there.
- Turn on my diffuser and put a custom made oil in there called Laughy Taffy (it smells like cotton candy, coconut and warm sugar cookies).
- Have a hearty bowl of Broccoli Cheddar soup from Panera (they sell it at Sam’s) along with a cup of caramel flavored coffee.
- Go outside when it’s sunny and sit in the sun while my dog plays.

I hope this helps kick off some ideas for you and that you feel better soon.

Yea, some days can be really bad...I read or better yet, take the dogs for a hike. They say being in the forest does good things for your brain...

Hello there,

If you don’t mind me asking...how many MGs of Gabapentin do you take? My pdoc prescribed it to me last month...100MGs three times daily. I can’t really notice a big difference. She said we could go higher if need be.

I take a nice shower and refresh myself. (I know sometimes it's hard for people)

I listen to some tunes, it always lifts my spirits.

If the weather permits, I sit outside for a while. Just getting outside can really help sometimes.
