called the pdoc about the depression ... asked to start doxipin again and to stop the risperidone (was given for sleep .. never helped) ... he sent a rx for the doxipin and sent along latuda 40mg ... he loves to push ap's on me ... never have taken latuda and god is it pricey ... asking your experience with it ... have to be pretty **** good for the money ... (and would it help any with my sleep ..

Latuda was a miracle drug for me. I did get some side affects at first and switched to taking it pm at bedtime so I'd sleep though them. Well worth putting up with a few months of minor side effects because like I said it's been a miracle drug, been on it for 4 plus years and I'm stable for all that time. I used to take lamictal with it but don't like the numbness of that drug and quit it more than a year ago, the Latuda seems to be all I need.

I’m currently on latuda. I definitely had some weight gain and other side effects but it has helped level me out. I’m still getting bouts of depression with it but they aren’t as bad as they were

Latuda worked so well for me , But my current situation has me switched from it to Geodon.

Not helping anything yet , but too soon to tell.

Initially, Latuda was a "lifesaver" for me. Very impressive lift from depression.
I did not gain weight, I'd lost weight while on it.

Within 4 months, Latuda was no longer helpful enough with depression to justify the cost. I'd switched to Abilify.

That said, we are each different in how we respond to meds.

I am very happy to read the ongoing Latuda success stories, as it's critical people are getting some relief from depressive distress.

Have you checked the manufacturer's web site for any available discount?

I have been on Latuda for the last 3 months and I have to say I really like it. I still get tired in the evening if I take it to early in the day.

It gave me severe anxiety. I wanted to crawl out of my skin.

I've been on it for about two months now (80mg). Sometimes it makes me nauseous about twenty minutes after I take it, but it goes away fast. It doesn't make me tired. It's made me gain little over ten pounds, but it might be from the other two meds I was switched to while inpatient too.

I don't hate it or really like it I guess. I like how it's given me my creativity back. Haldol murdered my creativity.

Latuda helped me a great deal for a year. Relieved depression. Then I developed a fairly severe hand and jaw tremor. My pdoc took me off the Latuda.

I consider Latuda to be my main drug for mood regulation, but I still take Wellbutrin at 450mg for depression. The worst side effect I had was akathisia (which the previous poster may have meant for "crawling out of your skin". It's pretty terrible. On the plus side the beta blocker propranolol eliminated it completely. Well worth the extra drug for me (and it's cheap).

Latuda has never made me sleepy; I take it at dinner. Oh, another slightly bothersome thing; you have to take it with 350 calories.

I am that previous poster and I just Googled akathisia; yes, that sounds like what I felt. I felt like I needed to get outside until I went outside and that wasn't good enough. I was pretty frantic. I thought it was anxiety because I felt like I wanted out of what I was doing and because of a stressful meeting that I thought was a trigger. But I still felt that way after the meeting went well. I stopped latuda and that horrid feeling stopped.

I just started latuda like a week ago. So far I can't tell if it is working. It does seem to give me some tummy problems and I don't have much of an appetite. I'm on 80mg. My psychiatrist office had a savings card for the prescription. I am hoping it will help with the cost.
