I had another bad weekend of thoughts. Basically two. That I’m a failure and no one wants me (very lonely). I fell back into bad behaviors and slept all day yesterday except for a moment when I ordered pizza (tbh barely recall that).

I skipped iop but I called my therapist. I told her I had a panic attack Saturday night (which I did, after finishing work and having a flat tire) and told her I can’t get these thoughts out. She told me to do a mood tracker. It says evidence for and against these thought (evidence, not judgement) and how I can make new thoughts. Well I’m still stuck in the negative. I’m lonely. Evidence I’m alone, no new thoughts. I’m a failure evidence, not succeeding.

I guess I still have a long way to go.

I do t want to be alone for my birthday.

I could have written this post myself. So many hugs to you. I have no advice for you since I also spent the weekend in bed and cannot do those thought exercises for anything. I really hope that you can find someone to be with on your birthday.

Do you mean being alone on your Birthday with a love interest? Or just being alone in general ?

If that does happen , altho you have plenty of time to find someone(s) with you on your birthday.

If not ???? volunteer at a soup kitchen, or homeless shelter.. You would not be alone and you could see how other people struggle not having a home or food, basic needs.

Its an eye opener for sure.

I think I forgotten how to find one. Suggestions? I’d always thought I’d meet my wife at a supermarket bumping into each other checking veggies out.

Meets ups

Bookstores

Book clubs

coffee shops

Church , If thats a thing you are into

Any volunteer settings.. Lots of great people take time to help others and might be lonely too.

Offer to walk your neighbors dogs if you dont have one, people are always drawn to animals.

And old fashion way in a bar.

You have to step outside your comfort zone.

Well iop helped with anxiety and how to deal with it. I was still anxious today Andy last couple days but deep breathing and distracting exercises helped me quell it. Now I know it was a lot milder than it was over weekend.
