I was recently hospitalized and posted earlier about my experience. I've received just the first of what will probably be dozens of bills from the hospital. The facility also provided instructions on how to access the patient portal so I could review results of tests performed. I wasn't really interested so put it aside, but today I had some extra time and decided to look. On a list of 10 tests, 7 (count them: Seven) tests were never performed, and one was supposedly performed outside the dates of my admission.

We're often advised to double-check hospital (or, for that matter, any) statements from healthcare providers, and this is an instance where this could affect my bill substantially. Just sayin'

Whether or not it affects what you pay depends on your insurance.
Regardless, turn the information over to your insurance company and they will deal with it for you.
