When you're having a really bad mental illness day what do you do to cope or to try and make yourself feel better?

I've already slept for about thirteen hours and now I'm trying to just find little things to do to pass the time until I can sleep again. I know that I will feel better eventually but I just need help getting through this bad patch.

Listen to music. Chat with people online. Read a book. Take a bath. Basically anything to take my mind off my bad day. Feel better!

I listen to DBT Connections videos and take gabapentin. Mostly work keeps me busy.

I like to read books but sometimes that's too much mental energy for me. Watching TV is tempting, but for me at least, it usually makes me feel worse. I try to do one thing that's "productive." Just one. It can be tiny. And it either gives me momentum to do more, or I get tired and I get back in bed... but I feel better knowing at least I've done something. I also like to take a nice bubble bath, it gives me a reason to get out of bed yet I'm still relaxed and comfortable.
I hope you get to feeling better soon!
