I have an appointment with my old therapist tomorrow. She knows a lot about me obviously and the key people, who have been in my life and helped me through some major events. The only catch is that it is going to cost nearly twice per session, even for a 45 min session vs the hour session that I was seeing her for. Another option she said would be to go biweekly, but I think I need weekly to start out with. I don't plan to stick with therapy for years....just a few months to get me over this hump though, which she understands.
Another option for me would be to go to a brand new therapist, who takes my insurance. I would still have to pay $40.00, my co-pay. I am weighing the advantages and disadvantages and cannot reach a decision. What do you think? I am just interested in some feedback or wonder if anyone has their own personal experience to share.....anything at all, I need help. |

If you want to get done fast it may be more cost effective to see the old therapist so that you don't have to go through the weeks of "getting to know you" that happens with a new one. The speed may balance out the cost although I don't know how you can be sure of that in advance.
