Found out today i got approved for social security after 6 months of waiting. First time I applied. Didnt need an attorney. This is a huuuge sigh of relief. My depression is gone, at least for the last couple hours. I celebrated by taking my dog to get a bunch of rawhides at the pet store. I am happy that this has been resolved so i can breathe a little easier. From hospitilizations to lethargic anxiety and depression, its been hard to have a job. I also made a new appointment with a counselor early today and last week started new better eating habits. So yes the world is a crapshoot and noko wants to nuke us but at least i dont have to worry about food or rent.

Congrats. Hopefully I'll hear something about my SSDI case by February. I've given up caring about it tbh it's been so long.

This is good news! Keep in mind that there are periodic reevaluations of your mental state by SS. Frequently, you would need to see one of the specialists sent by SS. I think this can happen every five years, but I may be wrong here. Personally, it has been over 15 years for me apparently without an evaluation. Twice they did send me a letter stating I will be evaluated. Then they sent me another letter telling me to ignore the first letter. I think much depends on what your pdoc tells them. So having a good relationship with your pdoc may help.
