I quite often can not find the right word ... simple words too ... they just will not come ... short term memory is shot ... but keep bringing back childhood memories though ( most likely age 60 +) ... been on lamictal doses from 400 to 200 over the last 5 years ... up when the clouds come lower when feeling better ... I expect to be on it a long time ... works best with least side effects for me ... I am in a very technical field and can slide by most times ... but there are days ...

I have experienced a good part of what has happened here to others. But this started well before Lamictal, perhaps over a decade before then. I think this just is part of our MI.

Thanks for replies.

I think it very well may just be part of the MI. I've never had it this bad before, that I can remember, but I've never had a mixed episode that lasted this long before. Very disconcerting though.

Having a MI has been shown to cause cognitive issues and add medication to the mess well... there you go.

Lamictal is actually a anti seizure medication the is used as a cross over for Bipolar and now I’m seeing it in depression treatment also.

I have a friend using it since years and he is forgetting a lot of stuff, often after some hours.

Its interesting to read that, since I never thought it is possibly related to his meds.

Funny after complaining yesterday I’m almost normal. Speech/typing all there despite crappy sleep last 2 nights. I think a little hypomania takes away the word problems. So probably not the lamictal, more likely the MI. Good then my Pdoc will probably want to increase it. I need more.

I'm glad to hear it's not the medicine, I hope upping the dose will help!
