I was feeling okay this morning till around noon and then I got really irritable and had no patience. Still had major energy but didn't know what to do with myself. Felt so restless with really dark thoughts. I don't know how I'm gonna sleep tonight. Hopefully I get some and feel better in the morning with less dark, SH thoughts.
How long do your mixed states last?

For me Mixed is hell on earth, not all mine have turned to depression, meds have stoped it from happening numerous times.

For me it does. But everyone is different. I’m a fairly rapid cycle so I’m only mixed for a couple of days before it turns into pure depression.

Normally I rapid cycle but last year just for something different I was in x2 mixed episodes.
1st went from 23rd Dec 2016-end June 2017.
2nd went from Aug-Dec.
Awful. Relied heavily on prn’s and some med dosage changes. x2 hospitalisations.
Use prn’s to help you sleep and to stay on top of the episode.

I've been mixed anywhere from a day or two up to a couple of months. Usually I'm already depressed when I get them, so can't really answer your second question. Mixed is a good time to call pdoc and be open to med changes or using PRNs. Sorry your going through that. Mixed is hell.

Mixed is totally hell. I can't say for sure how long mine last, newly diagnosed and haven't really kept track, but mixed is what got me to treatment. I'm guessing mine last about 3-4 days and then I go back to hypomanic. I've found that if I can manage to sleep 8 hours for 1 or 2 nights it seems to help break it. I hope you feel better soon!

I drugged myself and slept 8 hours. I feel slightly agitated today but not too bad yet... I just got up.What annoys me is that my husband refuses to see this as an episode. I went through a massive meds overhaul a couple months ago and as a result I was much less sedated . He thinks all the energy and lack of sleep was from being less medicated and he thinks I've just been pushing myself too hard, so now I'm running out of steam and don't really have any patience left. He says it's totally normal and happens to normal people all the time. I see my pdoc on Wednesday, we'll see what he thinks.

I would consisder what my husband is saying except I was feeling euphoric and VERY EXTRA Talkative. I just don't know anymore. Does anyone out there have any insight as to what has been going on with me?

I woke up feeling pretty chill this morning. It lasted about 30 minutes and then wham! Hypo again. I'm so confused. I've never experienced anything like this before.

Not sure, but it's something I've been doing a lot lately. My therapist considers it all one continuous "mixed" episode but the fluctuations are pretty dramatic because my mixed is high energy anxiety/anger/panic/badness and my hypomania feels good. Maybe it's really rapid cycling. I'm not sure.
Thanks for this!
