Hey guys, it's been a few months, and I apologize for my absence. My cable/internet was disconnected and I can't really use PC on my phone (I don't really understand or like the tapatalk app) and going to the library everyday is out of the question. It feels weird in here right now. But alas I have to come to print some forms because of the following.
As many of you know, I filed for disability earlier this year. Well, that got denied. I scrambled to find an attorney. The one I did find decided to not take my case at the last minute, forcing me to really work hard to find a new attorney before the deadline. Luckily I did and got the appeal filed, but as many of you know, it can still take months. My bills have piled up tremendously, forcing me to look for full time employment again. The system really is cruel in how they process these applications. They expect you to not be able to work, but then they make you wait months and/or years to hear anything back. How do they expect you to live?? I'm beyond frustrated at what to do with my life because of this. Anyway, I'm headed to my support group for some much needed support. I hope is well. I understand that it may not be the case for many of you, but I am sending positive vibes to you all.

I understand the frustration with disability. Been about 2.5 years since I applied. Had a hearing in November but still haven't heard anything yet. At least if you ever get it you'll get backpay.

I agree with Gina, the system is cruel and unreasonable. How a person is supposed to survive a year or more, not working, no income? I'd use up my life savings in less than one year.

Hi gina!

I am very sorry for the challenges you are facing. The disability process does not make sense.

So glad you've checked in! It's been awhile.

Gina,

I have been there. I went through so much dealing with SSA. I even had to move back to my birth state and live with my grandmother. I was strapped for money for a while. I kept fighting and won with no attorney. I’m glad you have a IRL support group. Thanks for letting us know that your safe. I hope things work out for you.
