Every single med seems to have some side effect. My current meds work great, but I get wicked heartburn and nausea nearly every night. It is crap!

Is it really too much to ask for to feel mentally and physically well. Is that too much?

Feel free to ignore me as I rant away. I feel soooooo sick right now. Groan.

Ufff. I used to have that problem, but it was before meds even. Esopagheal reflux. I quit taking the medicine for it last year when my stomach got better. It did change my meds absorption rate

Zantac works for me, although I don’t get heartburn from meds. There are a lot of good OTC meds on the market for reflux, and most of them can be taken for the long term. Zantac and Pepcid come to mind, although I know there are several others. Doctors like to prescribe Protonics, and I know there’s a generic for that. Might want to check about interactions, but one of those should do the trick.

PS. I hate meds for their side effects as well. Wish I could chuck my whole list into the East river.

I've tried zantac, pepcid, nexium... and NONE of them work for me, so I have a prescription for Protonix and it works fantastic. I literally told the GI doctor that none of the OTC stuff worked and that I needed something a lot stronger, so she gave me a protonix Rx. I did do an endoscopy with her first, though, to see how bad it was.

The chronic reflux must be disheartening.
I hope your doc can help you with this.

Doctors are now saying it's potentially very dangerous to use ppi drugs long-term. When I heard that I reevaluated my need for them. It appears the weight loss and some diet changes and eating habits helped.
I don't think pudding will be very settling. Milk products are a total no-no with reflux, as are sugary things. Things that are absorbing are sometimes a help. Never anything before bed. Nothing oily or fatty. The list goes on and on

Thanks. Feeling sick today. Zoloft and vyvanse suppress my appetite so I barely eat. I think this is part of my problem.

Vyvanse upset my stomach on it's own, even with the PPI. I had to switch back to generic Adderall. It worked better anyway.

I take dexilant for heartburn. I've tried everything. prilosec, nexium, protonix, pepcid. I take a dose of zantac at night too if things are bad or I'm up all night. My heartburn is from taking an NSAID daily. I also have a hiatle hernia. fun stuff. Good luck.

I’m sorry that you’re not feeling well. I agree with the sentiment of hating meds. The side effects are awful but it’s the price I have to pay to feel better mentally. I hope that your doc can find something to help you.
