When I'm manic music sounds amazing!! I can pretty much feel each beat .. but when I'm depressed music sounds dull, lifeless ..

I try to listen to music everyday because it takes me away from my daily stressors. I get to transport to another world and just chill.

Does anybody else experience this?? or something similar??

I can tell based on my playlist choice. I have a rainy days playlist and a sunny days playlist. I also have a pop punk and a rock playlist. I can also tell based on how loud I’m blasting it - when depressed I keep it quiet, when hypo I crank it up.

My music changes with my moods. When I'm hypo I listen to a lot of punk and metal because it keeps me fired up and going fast. When depressed I listen to trip hop and Mogwai and more dark music. People at work can tell my mood now based on what music I put on. So yeah, I guess I understand at least the feeling part of the music thing when up.

When I am manic, one person has described it as me jumping out of my socks along with my constant chatter and laughing. One sign I am manic is frequent trips to the local ATM machine. I find myself depressed when I find myself laying in bed, looking at a clock with the minutes ticking by, telling myself I will get up in another couple minutes. This ends up never happening.

Depressed is sad sad music. Manic is no music because I'm off doing something stupid and music doesn't even cross my mind. If I'm manic, I get grandiose ideas like I should start a band and make my own music Haha.

According to my parents, music impacted me even as a baby. I would goo gaa when something cheerful was played and cry if something was played in a minor key.
I try to stick to cheerful stuff. Sometimes I play chill out music.
If I’m in a mixed episode and at risk to myself I listen to grunge rock/heavy metal.
Everything always gets played loud.

Music is important in my life. When I'm depressed I listen to the songs that hurt over and over again. I can feel it to my core and the sadness consumes me. The rest of the time it makes me happy and I dance.

I listen to it all, except gospel because I'm not, all the time. I do this to drift around some during the day/workout/errthang. Today so far it's been Beastie Boys' "too many rappers," Pigface's "work to come," Beck's "row boat," Rufus Wainwright's "14th Street," a couple from Bach, a track of Ludwig van, a meditation track, part of a speech by Hunter s.t., around half of "too dark park" album from Skinny Puppy, three by Leadbelly, and some live sebadoh. Nick and Norah got nothin on my playlists.

When I'm hypomanic I love music and certain songs bring me to the heights of joy. I even cry sometimes when I hear it. When I'm depressed I listen to it to drown out the negative thoughts.

Also when I'm depressed I stop singing and chanting out load (I work for myself so I can let it rip when I'm feeling good).

I use music as a form of therapy. I listen to really fast music when happy, and sad music when feeling depressed. I always have something playing. I think that's why I love pandora so much.

I use Google Play Music. I've uploaded all I can of my own stuff, 10k songs, and use the free streaming of my stuff only or a mix. Quite a lot less ads than other streaming services. The suggestions seem better for my moods and things too. "I'm feeling lucky" mix is wickedly on point most of the time. I'll prolly buy in to unlimited at some point, then zero ads and any of their songs any time.
Today, Imagine Dragons' "Believer" is totally stuck in my head, from Pound class as the first song.
