Anyone just take a day from work for themselves to let their head rest. Ive decided Im doing that today. I needed a mental health day.

Yes, I have done that when the depression is bad enough that I pretty much stay in bed all day. Otherwise I force myself to go into work, because the guilt of calling in sick just makes me feel worse. I find that my mental health generally improves when I force myself to go in, and focus on my tasks. I hope you enjoy your day off!
Thanks for this!

I haven't been employed in so long that I don't think it was a thing then. I know I could have used those days. I've recommended them to others. May you get your needed respite.

I believe everyone needs mental health days whether they have a mental illness or not. Good for you for taking care of yourself. Have a great day off.

I feel overdue for a mental health day. A day where I just don't have to do anything and I can focus on myself or what brings me joy. Every time I want to take a day off something always comes up, though.

I’ve been guilty of that. Sometimes you just need to take care of yourself.

I tend to take mental health hours. I promise myself that I will go to work everyday. If I can't take it, I will tell myself to work until lunch. If I make it to lunch I allow myself to take the afternoon off. Usually it is not a big deal in my job. The work will be there the next day. So, as long as I can get the most important stuff done, I don't feel guilty leaving early.

My boss got in trouble for trying to stop one of the teachers from taking a mental health day. She was told that she couldn't question someone concerning their health. Everyone needs a day now and then!
Along those lines, I read somewhere that this is Mental Health Awareness Week-this may or may not be true since facebook was the source. It gave me a chuckle to consider a parade to celebrate Mental Health! I don't know which that float I would end up on-depends on the day!

The following is a joke...
I'd like to head up the ADHD float. We'll meet up sometime, probably after the parade, and put it together really hurridly, and leave before it's done to go buy lollipops.
I can make that joke because I have ADHD.
