Zoloft hates me. I gag badly when I take my pills. I get wicked heart burn and the OTC meds don't work. I feel sick to my stomach.

I can't take my meds with cannabis oil as it makes things worse. I skipped oil last night and barely slept.

This med combination works amazing for my head but is physically destroying me. I've avoided seeing my doctor because I don't want to do another med change. It took 1.5 years to get here. Mentally I feel good.

I just feel done. I can't win. Mentally good or physically good. I can't get both. I'm frustrated and defeated. Sitting here crying. Just wanted to vent. Thanks for listening.

Oh SadGirl...My heart aches for you. I know you've been dealing with this for awhile and I feel so bad for you. My only suggestion is to talk to your Pdoc. There might be something else out there that works just as good but does not make you feel so sick. You are in my thoughts dear friend. Big hugs.

I'm sorry I mentioned the Pdoc thing. I know you don't want a meds change and I understand that. I just don't have any more ideas to help you. I really hope you can get this figured out soon.

So you're sure the stomach issues are from Zoloft? I've never taken Zoloft, but I did have stomach issues early in my Lithium treatment. That's also possible if the Lithium level is too high. I took swallowable Pepto Bismol pills, that helped a bit, but don't consider this without talking to a pharmacist or doctor.

I'm pretty sure its the Zoloft. They switched my meds when I was in the hospital in September. My lithium prescription actually dropped from 1200mg to 900mg at that time. I went from a high dose of cipralex (lexapro) to a high dose of zoloft and stomach issues were almost immediate.

Zoloft surpresses my appetite and so does vyvanse. So I'm trying to make sure I'm eating properly with my meds too. That might be part of the issue.

I wouldn't care about changing meds except that mentally I feel so good. After 2 years of severe depression I'm terrified of going back there. I won't survive it.

They have stronger antacids too available. But it could be a completely unrelated issue to the meds. My sister was having horrible heartburn and her primary doctor said it was just that. A few days later she needs her gallbladder out.

@Unhinged88 that's scary!
TSG, there's got to be something. Have you tried it all? Dry carb foods low in fat and sugar eaten just before or after meds can help absorb the excess acid but also changes the absorption rate. I know you don't want to go to the doc about this, but you need to keep trying. If you've come this far, keeping on top of it will keep you this far and further.

There are not many side-effects with this med. However, indigestion is listed as a common side-effect of Zoloft. Maybe taking it after you had a meal will help? FWIW I have had problems with indigestion shortly after I took many kinds of pills. I do not think it was what I was taking at the time.

IMHO if it happens moments after taking the med, it is probably not the med. The stomach does not have enough time to even start the digestion process, no time for anything to happen that is med related. But I am no doctor.

Thanks. I really think it's the meds though. It occurs right after I take them.

I am sorry. I hate having to adopt to changes in meds... The timing is in their terms and not yours... I am sorry, SadGirl. Please know that I am thinking about you . Unfortunately, I don't have any wisdom on the subject, as I am as lost....
Please PM me whenever you want. I am here. We are all here.

Zoloft does a real number on me if I take it on an empty stomach. It gets really upset; to the point I feel I have to throw up. This happens to me with brand name Zoloft as well as generic. Try taking it with food and lots of water.

I don’t take Zoloft but empathize with your stomach issues. I complained to my primary who told me try Prilosec. It might only work for a few months. It did help me. Every three or four months I do the routine again but it’s helped immensely. Not sure if you’ve already tried that or not. I hope it eases for you soon.
