what was I thinking?

talking about something in daily conversation and used 2 swear words to a christian.

I feel really, really, really bad about it.

christians don't swear, and don't aprove of that sort of language-I feel bad about it.

this girl knows about my MI though, so hopefully she'll see it as just a bad day/ bad episode

I think you're being overly sensitive. I wouldn't worry about it since I'm sure whatever words you used weren't something the person had never heard before. Christion, or not, we're gonna hear swear words since they're thrown around regularly in our culture.

They live in the world I'm sure it didn't melt them.

Don't sweat it. Its lovely that you are trying to respect their beliefs. Likewise they should respect yours. We don't have to be the same to get along right. I really wouldn't worry about it.

after my last post, (the one above about the bible), I've got to thinking.. what would the story of creation be like- if it was full of cursing?

pretty funny, I'd imagine

You're very kind to be so sensitive to others. But as a christian I can say that most of my christian friends don't have a problem with cussing, most of us cuss a lot ourselves. I personally curse like a sailor I mean cussing someone out, christian or not, is bad of course, but just saying curse words in the presence of a christian is nothing to worry about

And if you’d sworn in conversation with a Muslim?

Would you still feel as bad?

I enjoy swearing, particularly in conversation with those who might disapprove. Why feel bad about it? And it isn’t true that all Christians disapprove of cursing - Jesuits let fly with new ways of swearing daily.

If I were you I would not feel bad - these curse words, swear words... they’re just words that we usually use to express vehemence (although sometimes, yes, to call another a pustulous boil, or something like it).

I'm a Christian but I swear too. As long as I don't take the Lord's name in vain (and I don't), I think He'll forgive me for the occasional F-bomb.

There are different types of swearing. There is name calling, and there is expressing yourself. I’m guessing you probably were expressing yourself. That isn’t so bad.

You can apologize if you feel you were disrespectful if you see her again.

Plenty of Christians swear, and many of them sure don't seem to mind the garbage that comes out of Donald Trump's mouth and Twitter typing finger.

In any case, it is better to take the high road and not the low road, in general. I rarely swear, especially in front of people beyond my close family. And why do non Christians deserve to hear swearing more than Christians?
