Does anybody have any tips for dealing with your other family members who also have bipolar?

My brother is in town and he's driving me nuts. He has no consideration for anybody and says/does as he pleases. He will take my phone charger and not give it back simply because he doesn't want to get his out of his bag. Or he will try to boss me around. He's going to set me off and I don't like snapping at people, so I do my best to control it. But there's a thin line he's walking and he's about to go over it. He doesn't take his meds like he's supposed to either. He lies all the time about things too. Little stuff to big stuff .. doesn't matter he will lie.

Immaturity is very common in bipolar. The best you can do is educate yourself about it and find coping mechanism to deal with it. I don't think it's against the rules to inform you of other boards, but
"Depression fallout" boards might be helpful listening to people who are going through the same thing as you.
Thanks for this!

Fight immaturity with immaturity. Have fun with it, but don't get mean. If he has your phone charger, call/text his phone every five minutes and ask when he'll be done.
Probably not the good person way to handle it, but I'm not always the good person.

I guess it must be difficult trying to figure out what is a symptom of the disease and what is a symptom of just being a jerk. Try compassion, it works under either scenario.

A very astute observation!
