I have read about CEN quite a bit. It is a convenient theory IMHO. What I want to know from Dr. Jonice Webb (the inventor of CEN - see Running on Empty) is give me an example of someone who didn't experience CEN. I feel like she skirts that issue. So, again IMHO, bipolar and CEN together is just a coincidence.

Yes in my case i really believe that it really is a body and brain chemistry thing.

childhood emotional neglect was a big part of my childhood.

it's no secret my family constantly hated me- and showed it through abuse

however, since I believe I've always been a little mentally ill (and I know i've been manic before my diagnoses), it's hard to really say if it had anything to do with it or not.

I was neglected. My dad was the worst. I was brought up by my grandma. She passed away and my parents took me back, but I was spending most of my time in my room. Very few friends. Even if this didn't contribute to BP directly it definitely contributed to development of a "broken" personality. This could have been a trigger for depression, anxiety and BP.
