My most pressing question/concern is that I was left on my antidepressant until this kicks in. I see my pdoc end of the week for a followup. (Oh boy! My sentence structure is atrocious right now! :P)

Question/concern- I'm gradually coming down from a manicish episode and have almost flipped to depression since adding Latuda. I don't blame it, it probably still needs time to adjust and I am also cycling (lady stuff), but as said above, I'm still on my antidepressant and I am concerned that is what's holding me together and last month, prior to being medicated, I was super low at this point too. I guess I'm worried about going off the antidepressant, and/or maybe curious if anyone can tell me how long it takes for Latuda to start working??

As I said, I see my pdoc soon, so will be sure to address this there, but meanwhile I'm just both sharing and curious if any other members have had experience with or are curious to follow my journey with this medication for bipolar. Thanks!

Im on 80mg of latuda once a day for depression.
It has done wonders for me! I honestly would probably be dead without it I was so low at one point. I think talking to PDOC will be good but I cant say enough about how good it has been. There are side effects but every one is different. I feel like a million bucks on it though.

I was on latuda but I could only take a 40mg dose or my blood pressure would drop. I ended up going IP on latuda and still experienced a lot of depression at that low dose. But everyone is different.

The good thing about Latuda as a bipolar depressant (for which it's FDA approved) is that it's not going to flip you into mania (also FDA approved for schizophrenia [=BP mania].} The bad thing for me was that it did nothing for my depression. I take Lamictal which also doesn't do anything for my depression as far as I can tell. It's Wellbutrin at 450mg that I credit with controlling depression. I do like Latuda for mood stabilization in general.

The Latuda didn't do anything for my depression at the max dose. Many here have had really good luck with it though. I hope it works out for you.. Hugs

Thank you all!
As it turns out, my Proc had to cancel this week's appointment due to snow, but we had a little chat and I'll see her next Tuesday. In the mix of all of this, I'm looking for ADHD control, but staying on topic... I did express my concerns or observations about the mood. Said I came down, dropped a little low but it could be partly emotions and circumstantial things and otherwise I feel pretty "stable". It does make sense now that it may not really help me too much with the depression, so will definitively keep an eye on that and again, thanks to you all for your insight! I'll update after I see her again next week.

Have been on Latuda for a few months now. I am struggling to cope with a very triggering event right now. If I can get a handle on it for the first time in my life, I will in part credit Latuda. As you can surmise, I probably need an increase in this med. However, I do not see my doctor for a few months.

This is probably me too. I've actually been seeing the NP, but am scheduled to see the pdoc in March to discuss this and anything else. Will observe in the meantime.
