Dose anyone who takes seroquel have an issue with swallowing after they first take the med?

I did when I took it with acidic beverages. It stripped the coating off the pill and was uncomfortable. I used to be affected by GERD really bad and that would do it too

Really sedating medication does this to me . I often choke and have to have a drink right away to push the food down my throat. Very scary.

That must be scary and upsetting, G. It's hard for me to know which of my physical symptoms come from meds. Could you have Silent GERD? I don't exactly have trouble swallowing, but have many other miserable symptoms that I googled like crazy and finally Silent GERD seemed to make sense. I am also on Seroquel (+ other meds).

It didn’t have that effect on my however I was only on it for a few weeks.
I hope you’re ok, it sounds like a very unsettling side effect.

I've had that with Zyprexa. It's like I want to swallow a gulp of water, but my brain suddenly forgets how. It's the strangest damned thing.

No I just think it's an odd side effect. Like mentioned earlier it's also like I forgot how to swallow for me too.
