Im hoping to start a happy thread here. We are all bipolar, but what else? Add something big or small about yourself that you are proud of.

I am bipolar, but.....

I own a successful business
I'm a mother of 4 amazing kids
I can pole dance (hanging upside down is my fav)
I can rock blue hair
I can ride a water slide 40 times in a row before my butt gets to sore.

I can run a quarter mile flat out. Bought new shoes made for running today so we'll see if it's better.
I can transcend sometimes using yoga. I practice 8 times most weeks."8" sideways is infinity. My resting heart rate is in the mid fifties.
I can often remember the tiniest details.
I am a helper. If I can do it to help, I will.
I do some of my own mechanic work.
I have over 180 college credit hours, 29 were in one semester!
I love you even if you're awful.

I've had bipolar disorder most (all?) of my life. And...

I (and my husband) raised two fantastic kids.
I have rescued and deeply loved many cats and rats.
I am very creative and have pretty decent artistic talent.
I used to write poetry and was published in reputable journals.
I will give just about anybody the benefit of the doubt.
I lovingly facilitate a NAMI Connection support group.

Today I didn't take a nap, the first day since my surgery nearly 3 weeks ago. I assume I am getting better. (Anesthesia combined with my meds always leaves me sleepy for a long time).

I'm bipolar, but...

I am studying in another country, even though it's hard and scary.
I love my job, and I am good at it.
I was one of 10 people in the entire country selected for an internship program.
I am getting my bachelor's AND my master's degree in only 4.5 years.
I have been studying classical guitar since I was eight years old.
I love deeply and I see the good in every person.

I'm a bird enthusiast.

I've grown to really enjoy writing.

I have a wonderful husband of 20 years.

I love to dance and have a very good memory for songs. I often only require a few notes to identify and hum a whole song in its entirety.

I try to participate in mental health advocacy.

I have a wonderful family who is very supportive.
I had a great marriage to the love of my life for 36 years until he passed away. He loved me unconditionally despite my erratic behavior and episodes of rage, my spending us into bankruptcy twice, and my instability to the point where I lost my career.
I'm a good writer.
I was a good nurse.
