I have to share this because I think it's disgusting.

Possible trigger:

yesterday, I found myself watching one of those shows where they rescue animals (it was just on, so left it playing)

at one house, they had 144 dogs (144), all in really bad condition- no food, no water, living in utter filth

so the owner of the dogs said that she wanted to keep 24 dogs, and so they let her keep the ones not at risk

but when they came back in a few months, the owner had moved out and left the dogs to fend for themselves

out of the 144 dogs, 100 were able to be rehomed, but it's still terrible..... absolutely terrible

I mean if you're going to have a dog, at least make the effert to look after it.

she eventually admitted to what she did, and was banned from owning more than 3 dogs (she shouldn't own any dogs at all!)

if you don't want to look after a dog, don't get one

it is that simple

stories like this really upset me- because I love animals (probably explains why I did think about being a vet at one point in my life)

Why was she banned from owning more than 3 dogs? Did the news say? I agree that she should be banned from owning ANY dog, as she can't be trusted. I mean, if she abandoned her dogs in the first place, what says she won't do it again?

She really is a POS, as much as I'd hate to say it. Awful, awful person. Animals have feelings too.

I didn't see the photo appear, but do get easily triggered by such images. Loving animals like I do, it breaks my heart to see abuse of any kind.

We had a similar story here 3 years ago. 200 dogs were seized from one woman. I won't go into the awful details. The positive is that we ended up with two amazing husky puppies. All the dogs/wolves survived and were adopted out. The woman fled to another country to avoid her charges and is still wanted.

When I volunteered for a shelter we had a meeting on people who do that( take in numerous pets but can't care for them). They said it's an psychiatric illness like munchausen. They are delusional about their ability to care for the animals. Doesn't make it much better and I believe they should be prosecuted and also given psych help.

pirilin, I am really concerned because I am pretty sure this is the second post of yours in which you have mentioned that your dogs abuse you in some way.

Can you explain what you mean?
