I joined pc 1 year ago today. I had been depressed (with 1 round of mania) for 1.5 years. Hence I'm thesadgirl. I've been stable since being released from the hospital 5 months ago.

I thought we could have a thread to share anything that has made us feel good lately.

I'll go first. I colored my hair like a rainbow, hopefully the pic works. I nailed a pole dancing move I was working on. I bought tickets for my bestie and I to go to a concert.

So, what is positive for You? Big or small, I wanna hear it all. The Happy Thread

Your hair looks cool!

I took myself out for lunch to a diner that just opened a few months ago and i got a booth all to myself by the window! Usually they don't let a solo diner have a whole booth to themselves. Last night i played hard in my Scrabble games and won all three! Maybe my studying is paying off!

That is awesome! Booths are the best and I love a good game of scrabble, though I often find myself trying to use words that don't exist. Lol.

Nice color!

You've just reminded me I have 4 tickets to a May concert.
I had forgotten.

Great thread idea! Thanks!

Love the color!

I get to plan for our 7th wedding anniversary in Indianapolis. Considering neither of us was expecting to be married ever, 7 years is pretty darn good.

Your hair is really beautiful! It looks so well done that it's almost artistic-looking. The waves even add to the beauty.

I haven't been doing that well lately, but I have good moments. Yesterday my therapist taught me some really interesting stuff, and then sent me a link to an equally interesting YouTube video featuring a lecture by an MD who specializes in interpersonal neurobiology. I was glad that I've taken psychology courses in the past so that I could understand the lecture fairly well. Basically what I learned were the neurobiological explanations of various types of anxiety. Both my therapist/psychologist and the lecturer said that certain psychotherapeutic approaches can reverse or at least help ease such anxieties. Basically retrain how the brain operates in certain ways. Encouraging!

I, of course, believe medications are the main treatment for certain mental illnesses (especially for bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, or the like), but also believe psychotherapy can be equally good, or even better, than medications for certain others (like various forms of anxiety). I still have a lot of work to do in therapy, but am excited to have a new psychologist with a more scientific approach. I think that might be just what I needed. She has been a professor at two universities in addition to providing therapy.

My depression lifted last month in the hospital. First time a hospital has ever helped.

The NCAA Basketball Tournament has started. The first week is the most exciting. There have been several upsets (I love underdogs).

I LOVE your hair. Very cool. And shiny!

Just feelin' good these days...peaceful...sleeping well...going to the gym every morning before work...happy. I sat in the sun for an hour today, just soaking it in. Then I bounced a big pink ball all over my driveway and kicked it up on the roof of my house over and over. It was fun. I might ask my neighbors to come out and play with me tomorrow.

I'm happy that I'm doing well volunteering and being able to offer up ways to make things more efficient and figuring out how to do things in the system to fix errors when they happen that the people who taught me the system didn't know. My brain might be working for once. lol.

I wish I could dye my hair, but not for my job. Yours looks really nice though. It's so cool that you can make your hair all those colors and have the colors work really well together. Reminds me of colorful candy.

The only good thing is that I haven't been depressed or manic for a while because I'm FINALLY compliant with my medications.

It’s sunny today, which is so nice.

Our new cat seemed to only like my daughter at first, but it has suddenly taken to me. That involved being woken up at 3:30am yesterday, but that’s OK. This poor thing was a stray, and you can really tell that she is amazed by being able to get food anytime . If she asks for food every hour, I’ll give her a little something, so it’s my fault she wants to wake me up in the middle of the night, LOL

Your hair is very happy looking! I think TheSadGirl doesn’t fit you now!!

I agree with key tones, your hair is happy

I’m happy it’s sunny, I exercised today, I made a cheese cake and soups on the stove now. I’m very happy that spring is around the corner, the smells and warmth of spring hold so much hope for renewal.

Oh wow! That rainbow hair is absolutely GORGEOUS!!

I had an amazing day today, actually its been a long string of amazing days lately!

My blog is totally taking off, I am reaching more people than I ever have before, and I'm absolutely KILLIN' it and kicking the crap out of Bipolar 1 since I have been on Seroquel!

I can't tell you how good this feels, and how I finally feel peace after SO MANY DAMN YEARS of utter turmoil! Ahhh, bliss!

Thesadgirl is not so accurate right now, but reminds me of how far I've come.

On the happy train: My kids are 7,8,9 and 10 until a birthday on Sunday. I had 4 kids in 4 years which makes me feel bad *****. Also they are amazing kids.
