My body says it is tired. I take my night meds-lithium, depakote, xanax, and requip.
I have been stable on this combo for about 6 months and it is the longest I have ever had.
The xanax is the main thing I take for sleep, I was on trazadone but was taken off several months ago as it was one of things causing me to have mixed episodes. Once I was off that and one other med I became stable.
When I lay down, it is like my brain switches and I am no longer tired. Not with thoughts racing.
My doc wants me out of bed by 9 and start my day. If I have not slept when I wake up at 9 , I feel horrible, almost drugged. So I stay in bed and sleep for a few more hours.
It is starting to bring me down and wearing on me. I have to cancel plans at last minute.
I do not work so I do not have much of a schedule. If my husband is home he gets upset at me , he does not say it but I see it.
I am trying my hardest.

I really think you'll benefit from getting up early to have a healthy circadian rhythm.

I've been up at 6am and am in bed by at least 8pm.

Hope your husband and doc listen to how this (your issue) is making you feel and so they better understand your needs.

It really depends upon what you want to do.

If you want to try to change your pattern, get up at 9 am, even though you are tired. See if you can shift your sleeping pattern a bit.

If you are happy with the way it is, then tell them so... and keep sleeping in.

Your call.

I think, remember I'm not a doctor, that what you need is the appropiate medicine. Good luck.
