do you act your age?

when people look at you, do they tend to think you are older, or younger, or about the same age you are?

when people look at me, people always think I'm younger- people tend to ask me what I'm studying at school or if I'm planning to go to colledge.

I guess it's because of the way I act, and my limited experience in a lot of things (including my vocabulary)

so when people see you, what age do they think you are?

being called younger doesn't really bother me- it does deep inside me, but not enough to let it show

I don't know. Sometimes I'm called younger than 54 but my hair is all grey. My maturity is not 54.

I have moments when I don't act my age

I have no idea. You should ask my mommy. She's the bestest person in the whole wide world.

It varies.. it depends on the alter present.

None of us feel like we’re the body age of 50....we are all much younger than that even though the older ones (35) try to own it.

Bipolar though does give us the energy to feel younger, but then it can make us feel close to death, too.

How do you know if your acting your age no one has ever been 21 twice etc lol.

I look younger than 33 as does my Twin. So I guess it's just how you feel. Sometimes I feel like I'm dumbed down since losing my job which would make me sound younger. Think my family treat me like I'm younger like I can't look after myself etc

Mostly. I'm 40, but when I have high anxiety and panic attacks, I feel & think I act much younger than I am. Same thing when I'm manic. My husband told me at a recent family birthday party when I was sitting next to my sister, we looked so alike we could be twins. I took that as a compliment; she is 5 years younger than I am.

I look younger than I am (I still get ID’d at the movie theater for R movies- Im pretty sure I look older than 17 but I guess movie theaters think that is debatable).

In some ways I act older than I am. In some ways younger. Im probably more self aware than the majority of individuals my age. I am less petty or spiteful or just- less into emotional ‘game playing’ that a lot of women my age like to do. But also, I feel like I am behind socially. A lot of the experiences others might have had- have been delayed for me. It took me longer to have my first intimate experience than others usually have it- and well,sometimes I feel like because of my conditions Ive missed out on more than I am even aware of- am stunted in ways that havent been shown yet.

People say I look younger, but I think I act my age, but feel older.

I selected "younger than I really am", but almost selected "varies". Truth is, I'm not 100% sure how old everyone perceives me to be. At almost 47, I can say that I no longer get carded - LOL! However, in the recent few years I have had people say they thought I was in my mid to late 30s. You know, it really depends on my mood. When I'm feeling really good I take much better care of myself in various ways (styling my hair, dressing nicely). I also become extremely upbeat and humorous. I do think that happiness and humor can really make people look, and otherwise seem younger. Unfortunately, depression can age people a lot, too. When I'm elevated in mood, I become very flirtatious and extroverted, and a real "star of the show". Sometimes I am even when stable. I often flirt with much younger men, and they seem to enjoy it, too. I call myself a "cougar" and they laugh. Funny true story:

One day I went to lunch at a local pub and sat at the bar. One of the employees there always comes by to say hello, when I am there. He's got to be at least 10 years younger than me. We flirt up a storm. I told him that I knew I was trying to be a "cougar". He smiled hugely, lifted up his sweater, and revealed a t-shirt that honest to goodness read "Cougar" and has a picture of one on it, too. He and I, and an older woman who sat nearby (listening in) laughed up a storm.

I got carded when ordering a drink this weekend - made my night (I'm 42).

I definitely look older. Genetics, obesity, and age haven't helped much.

I still feel younger, though. When I dream, it's a younger self. When I look in the mirror, I still don't feel right.

Wait a minute...the title of this post and poll is "Do you act your age". Acting my age and how other people see my physical self are entirely different things.

I act my age, more or less....other people always think I'm younger because I do look younger than I really am.

I can't tell what anyone's age is today, as I don't feel like I look 56. I'm definitely young at heart, not that I consider myself old, and then again what age is old. I have an 85 yr old friend, she's amazing and a lot of fun to be with. I don't see her as 85.

su4, I've always seen you as a young type woman. Certainly no older than I feel. My dad's about 76 and he's like an 18 year old. Actually, sometimes nowadays I feel more mature than him.

well.... if you're 45 and you're bouncing up and down on a bouncy castle, drinking from a baby cup with a slurpy straw, people arn't going to look at you and go... well, they're 45

I try to hang out with the young. It's contagious. So is the olds.
