I'm on a high dose of Zoloft. It exhausts me so I take vyvanse and chug coffee to stay awake. Then I cant sleep so I use cannabis. Then there are days like today. I've been up since 2:30am (2 hours). Grrrrrr.

I just want to stay awake during the day and sleep through the night. Is that really too much to ask?

Feel free to add your own vent.

Went to bed at 9. Woke up at 10, 11:30, 12, and 1. Then I stayed up from 1 until 6 and woke up at 6:45. I feel your pain.

Uggg. I hate not sleeping. When do you take the Zoloft? And how long has this been going on? Maybe you need to talk your doc. Chugging coffee to stay awake can cause problems because it messes with your sleep at night. I try not to drink any after lunch time because it will cause me to have interrupted sleep at night.

I take Zoloft at night. My doctors are aware it exhausts me, but it's the first med to take away severe depression so everyone feels it's best that I just cope, basically.

I'm not in your space right now, but was sleeping only about three hours a night not too long ago. I realized I was getting a bit hypo & stopped taking my AD. Having done so, I'm getting eight hours of sleep again. ADs can be too activating for me. I only use them as needed. Good luck getting some quality Zzzzzzz's.

My brain needs help, too.
I need Adderall during the day and Temazepam at night.
I often awaken between 1 and 3 a.m. for an hour or three.

At 11:30PM, klonopin (.75mg) puts me to sleep for 2 or 3 hrs. Depending how much food is in my system. The more the better.
Then I stumble into the kitchen. Sometimes I can't even find the bedroom door to get out, even if I have a night light.
Go to the office and surf eBay, to see what I won or lost at the auctions. If I didn't win something, It's a long night then. If I did, I'll go back to sleep for another 3 or 4 hrs.
I'm up at 5 or 6 in the morning. That's my best time to try to act and think.
My wife and the dogs are still sleeping.
After breakfast, at 9 or 10, I take a nap. 45 min later, I'm up again until after lunch. Another nap. Another 45 mins.

If I did too much after that nap, a go to bed again around 4PM. At this time everybody call me, even if I tell them not to, so no sleep until 11:30PM.

I sleep in episodes.

Sometimes I sleep through the night. Sometimes I'm rolling around in bed until 1 AM. Sometimes I fall asleep fine, but wake up at 3:30 or so and can't fall back asleep.

Sometimes I would be asleep if husband didn't wake me up/AC unit isn't spitting out ice chips/the cats sing the song of their people wanting to be fed.

Unstable sleep routine sucks.

I may have a a rather odd marriage, but a couple of years ago I moved into my own bedroom where I can close the door and have alone time. I sleep much better now. My husband like to keep the bedroom the temperature of a meat locker and keeps 2 fans and a sound machine blasting. I snore...loud. I had some minor surgery and it’s not so bad now. I prefer a quiet room that’s not freezing. Neither one of us was getting quality sleep. We get along MUCH better now that we aren’t both sleep deprived.

I have been sleeping better lately, but for about a month I went to sleep fine and then started waking up between 3-5... Made for some really long days. Hope you find some answers to your problem... hugs

Hello 1am. Sigh. I've dropped my daily nap. I only drink coffee in the morning. I'm just asking to sleep through the night. Is that too much to ask?

No it’s not too much to ask. Hopefully the changes you’ve made will help you it may take a while.

I wish I had something to help me to get a normal night of sleep. I wake up having trouble breathing and have to change positions or move to the other side of the room. It's a miserable situation.

Is this trouble breathing for a panic attack? Having trouble breathing sounds like something that needs to be checked out by a doctor. A while back I had a doctor tell me I was having trouble breathing because of anxiety. After a second opinion from a pulmonologist turned out I had asthma.

I had that and found out that I had sleep apnea. CPAP machine helped.
