Heres a good overview of this drug. I had a few odd side effects like falling over/unsteady on my feet.

Evidently my sodium was low on trileptal and it wasn’t doing jack **** anyway. I’m really putting my hope in lamictal and birth control at this point. I got nothing else.

I was on the verge of a full blown SJS I quit it when my gums started bleeding. Prior to that for the few weeks I took it I just couldn’t walk straight.

But it helps a lot of people

I've had several of the listed side effects over the years with dosage increases. Fortunately, they seem to go away fairly quickly and then I feel normal.

So gums bleeding is a side effect? I just went to the dentist Thursday and they said I need to floss better because my gums were bleeding.

I have also felt no difference on this med. The previous posters description of their side effects, specifically about instability on their feet, has happened to me, but while I was on Tegretol. I only could walk in semicircles. I think Trileptal is known as an analog of Tegretol. IOW they are closely related meds.

On of the side effects of psych Meds is it messes with your sodium levels. We don’t hear about it much. It causes weakness and dizziness. My mother law went on lexapro and her sodium level tanked. She feel and gashed her head open on a door knob and we had to take her to the ER. She went off the Meds and now she’s back to her normal cranky self
