I'm running out of things to talk about in therapy. I feel the need to come with topics and sometimes I have none. Like today. I just have no energy to come up with topics. This ever happen to others? I go every other week due to my insurance or I would be going weekly. I feel the need to entertain or make it interesting.

In between therapy sessions, you should make a list of things you want to talk about. Just jot them down as they come to mind. You may also benefit from mentally reviewing your past week. What good happened? What bad happened? Any distressing moments?

You can also journal instead of making a list of topics. I don't journal, but some people find it helpful.

Hah! I was just asking myself what I was going to talk about in session about 30 minutes from now.

Talk about how your parents held you back.

Ask the therapist what needs for you to be improving on.

Sometimes, you've developed an unhealthy attachment to them, even if they try to persuade you that's not an obsession.

Don't play dumb, they hate that. They thrive on challenges and would probably tell you to take healthy risks in life, became let's face it.

Nothing's wrong with us, except the lack of discretion (sarcasm)

I know. Talk about the spamer in your thread.

Ask if they moonlight.

I second making a list as things come up. When I was in therapy I had no clue what to talk about either so I listed down things as they came up.

I'm doing group therapy and individual therapy with the same psychologist. I feel like I run out of things to say during the group. Then I have little to say during individual. They seem redundant. I do both the same day so that's not helping but it's too far to do this on two different days.

Yup, maybe I should make a list!

I really like all the advice you have been given. A list of things is invaluable.

If I don't have a specific topic I just talk about what's happened the past two weeks.
