I drive to Norm's, the laundry mat/convenience store and pick up three Clubtails. They are 10 percent alcohol and the margherita ones look like 7up. Last night I made a beautiful spaghetti dinner with meatballs soaked in sauce. I fell down and broke a kitchen cabinet door. I turned a dresser over on my right foot. I meant to do it. I was not angry. I soaked a watercolor painting in kerosene and watched it burn. Today I want a Clubtail. I want three but I've asked my Mother to lunch. I'm afraid my boyfriend may leave me. I would leave me. I am trouble. My meds don't work so I drink. I drink and my meds don't work. I am swinging like a wild monkey on vines in the jungle. Up and down. I have a Dr. appt. June 4 but I don't think I can last that long.

I drink whole milk now. In my time, Chiva's on the rocks. All day and all night. Almost a 750 per day.
Yes, I still have a liver filtering fine at 68.
Things werer bad, plain 12yrs.
Thing were better. Salute.
Things were great. Royal Salute.

Now, a month goes by and I don't drink any alcohol, unless we go out to dinner.
When we do, a bloody mary to start, a shot of Velvedere after desert. It's digestive.
It doesn't smell. Increases the chances of no DUI.

I don't recall a deal of any sort. Alcohol does smell, regardless of flavorings

I helped mow the lawn. I should not have rented a house with such a big yard.I am weeding but have noticed the weeds turned into flowers. I am not a gardener. I fear I have killed many flowers out of ignorance. Now I am having a screw driver. I am worried I'll be tipsy at lunch with Mom. I hope work doesn't call. I tried to call my Dr. but got the stale recording. I smelled vodka all the time on my Mother. She drank it with Fresca. I don't know maybe other people can't smell it but I smelled it on a lady in the airport boutique.

I do too, but I am trying to completely give it up until I understand my illness and I get on the right amount of mood stabilizer. It enhances my mania tremendously.

I only drink once in a while, on special occasions. I sometimes miss not having alcohol but I was a tired, nasty drunk so I guess it's for the best.

I've been hypomanic on and off all spring, and what did I do but take up drinking again after 26 years of abstinence? I don't drink to get drunk, in fact I am terrified of losing control and limit myself to ONE beer or cocktail, usually only on weekends. I feel like an adult again. I've been on three cruises and never enjoyed a single tropical drink, but I'm going to on this next one. I've made a pact with myself that if I ever do lose control and get intoxicated that I will give it up again for good.

I guess that I never acquired a ‘taste’ for alcohol — at one time I would buy Jack Daniels to drink with eggnog at Christmas, but I’ve not done that in three years.

If your medications aren’t working for you, you need to inform your shrink. Alcohol can only act as a depressant, I think. I don’t think that it can actually treat symptoms.

To me, it sounds as if you might drink because of fears. Do you fear your mother? You’re afraid that your boyfriend might leave you.

I’ve only been ‘drunk’ twice (three times??) and I was physically ill each time.

But #1 — I just don’t believe that alcohol is a proper medication for bipolar disorder. Or any other mental disorder. Again, I suggest that you talk to your shrink and allow him/her to get you on medications that will work for you.

Good luck.
