I took two doses of Risperdal and stopped because it made me almost pass out, heart rate increased, feel suicidal, super drowsy and unalert (like, at work special needs kids were about to kill each other and I was looking right at it and didn't realize unalert), and feel really restless. It was about ten steps down from where I'm at without meds. Would it be worth it to lay in bed for the next month and hope I don't kill myself (accidentally or intentionally, I can see both happening) and try to adjust or should I just wait until my next appointment and try something else?

I'm sorry. I know how debilitating side effects can be. I am super sensitive when it comes to side effects. I hope you get this figured out soon. hugs

If the side effects are that bad, you should ask your pdoc for a different med. It is one thing to deal with side effects like fatigue, upset stomach, constipation, dry mouth, things that may or may not go away with time (usually dry mouth never does for me) but that do not completely debilitate you or put you in danger. The side effects you are describing sound dangerous and beyond the norm, definitely NOT worth continuing the med. And if your pdoc prescribes you another med, be sure and ask at what point are the side effects something to contact them about and not something to wait out.

I don't think my doc knows anything about the meds he prescribes. The only side effect of Risperdal he told me about was tardive dyskinesia when I asked and that was a reason to stop it. He said trazodone doesn't have any side effects when it made me incredibly agitated and I stopped it on my own because I was actually sleeping less.
