I just did my first full session of EMDR today.
We practiced safe space and then actually went into a traumatic memory. I cried which I never do in front of t. My head feels spacey and I'm having a hot flash. My T said stick around as long as I want before driving. So im venting here lol

I feel so weird but not in a bad way. T told me I did a really good job and I am
Really brave.

I'm gonna meditate on "brave" tonight and hopefully Ingrain it in me before next session in two weeks.

What a day.

That's great. Seems interesting, but my ability to stay focused is a little on the slow side.

Good--it'll feel weird for a while, but it'll be okay.

It's really hard to concentrate on the words and feelings that are so negative but I honestly think I feel a little better! When we first starting talking about the memory I was very tense and scared and hot. Now it's like I just remember it and I'm a little tense. It was awkward too. He had to tell me to breathe bc at first few rounds I wouldn't bc I was so tense and nervous. The safe space thing actually works!!!!! I feel like I trust him so much more now. Not that I didn't before but dude I just sat with my eyes closed and processed a really, really traumatic memory of childhood. Last week I couldn't bring myself to close my
Eyes. Idk why. But he asked me to try to this week. I just felt so vulnerable but now I feel safer.

Right now, I feel calm.
