Even SUPERMAN has some flaws. He may be who he is, but even him is not perfect.
In my youth, I did a lot of shooting without ear plugs. In this crowd, one of the jokes was to shoot 44 magnums in each other ears, when caught by surprise. What you do today, will repercute in the future. My hearing was good until five years ago. Not perfect, but good. It went downhill progressively without many perceivebable(sp) incidents. I laughed at friends my age, 68, when they had to close caption programs. Even thought I'm blessed with a wife that whispers when she talks, I still could hear her. Lately I could hear, but not understand every word. Specially the last word. She's a specialist at that. Has always been. Love is blind and maybe deaf too. Enough rambling. Even if I like to ramble. Hehe. I buy my vaping supplies, and many other things, from a company in China named Fasttech, maybe some of you are familiar with the name. They have become a monstrous empire in a three year span. I browse the "sale" section every time I visit. Mainly looking for vaping stuff for cheap. So I see this hearing aid in sale, at the ridiculous price of 8.92US. I laugh and wonder why my mother in law pays 1500US for hers and this thing is so cheap. It most be a sham. However, it may work too. I ordered. I have ordered way more crazy things from them than this. BTW, I was close captioning too. Don't tell anyone, please. To make a super long story short. It works. Like a charm. Like in no more close caption TV for me. Uses AG 13s (LR44) batteries. There are no cheaper button batteries than those. They maybe 30 or 40 cents retail. I can always import them for less than 10 cents In ten packs, if they are expensive here. My mother in law's are 3.85 per. And she runs out every ten seconds. Bottom line. I'm happy. And I can hear again. If you read to this point, I admire you. Thank you for reading.

That's awesome. I know my father-in-law spent over $1500 on his. My dad needs hearing aids, but my parents barely make ends meet as it is. Not that it matters that much with him, anyway. I think he is undiagnosed Apsergers. He's always been loud and talked loudly my whole life and all of his according to his sister (my aunt). However, because of how he is, he tends to just talk at people, ignoring 99% of what they say (this back when his hearing was good). Besides his loud voice, he has his own business repairing electric & mechanical objects. When I was young, it was things like cars & TVs, but now he does work at places that are noisy, like cotton gins, rice dryers, cabinet factories, recycling places. He's not really bothered by it, I don't think. It's more my mother who gets irritated with it.

My hearing has been diminishing over the years. I have to have everyone repeat themselves. Right now, it is strange. I am not having to do that any more, but my hearing still is not good.
I have been thinking of hearing aides, the ones that fit deeper in the ear so noone can see it unless they are looking for it. Pirilin, is your hearing aide like a small transistor radio of the long ago past? Maybe the hearing aide fits into the ear, probably like those old time hearing aides of the past that really old people wore. This type is very obvious by others. Maybe am vain, but I do not want to look like an old person. No possible dates this way. |

But they have plenty of models, like 100. The most expensive being 55.00. I bought another for the right ear. BTW, the model I bought is the V-183. Like 12.89 now that the special is gone.

It's matte black.
Size is less 1 3/4 inch long. Width like 1/2 inch. Comes with 3 different ear cup sizes. And 2 different hanging hooks, which are not necessary. Good luck. Jesus, FT should pay me a commission.
