I take Xanax 1mg tid prn

My T and Pdoc feel that as long as it’s helping no reason to stop it.

I was once detoxed without my ok (pos Ip Pdoc tricked me) off Xanax with phenobarbital, omg I didn’t even know who I was. Worse experience ever.

If need be due to new a Pdoc whatever I would be okay with a long taper.

When I tapered off the Xanax I was trying to do it in about 2 months. My pdoc made me slow down to between 4-5 months and I wasn't on a high dose of Xanax. She was the one who told me to go off it I was the one who tried to do it faster.

I’ve been on it for 13 years. I take 2 mgs at bedtime. I can’t sleep without it. I’m scared to go off it. I don’t want to ask the dr for fear he will cut my dose and I will go back to not sleeping

Were there any alternatives recommended to help you with the withdrawal symptoms? I know low dose of Seroquel can have sedating properties and also is used for withdrawal.
