I started using this med over at least three weeks ago. It appears to be working. Most all other meds did not work for me. This med had some bad side effecs like not being able to walk a straight line. Now those side effects seems to be abating.

For instance, I have purchased what is to me an expensive watch. It is a fitness/sports watch. I have been using it for at least a month now. It shows my increase in health which is kind of a reward for my efforts. It also gives me goals. However, I am now looking at this other watch and have given myself reasons to purchase it. However, I will not purchase it even though it is better than mine, and at a better price. When I am in an elevated mood, I would of purchased it in a heart beat. I know it would not be wise, and further more I do not have a compulsion to purchase it. I knew I wanted to purchase it, but instead I have turned down this opportunity. No problem. I hope that this will be the case for my home equity loan. I still have $20,000 in credit that I can use. I have been known to go through $120,000 in quick order.

Have you found that side effects can go away on this med? After only several weeks, can it have already have this positive effect on me? I am hopeful. I do not want to lose any hair!

I haven't tried it, but you need to weigh the positives against the negatives.

Glad you're feeling good Depakote may be working for me?

My major side effect, diarrhea, didn't go away but it lessened some after a while. Weight gain kind of topped out at 185. Tremor kinda went away.

Your tremor went away? That would be excellent for that to happen to me. So far no weight gain. I have been both watching my calorie intake and I exercise allot. I walk miles as fast as I can. Before this medication, I was thinking about having a very good friend, which I have known for over 40 years, take care of my money for me.

I put on weight initially with Epilim (Depakote). But that seems to have settled. I still have a significant hand tremor.
On the plus side, and it’s a biggie: no sui ideation at all since being put on it. Given that I was unwell pretty much entirely for 10months leading up to commencing the Epilim that’s a good outcome.
