sex drive & meds

I’m repulsed by the very idea of sex. I couldn’t have an orgasm to save my life. Anything sexual feels disgusting.

My sex drive took a nose dive about a year ago, which was about 2 years after starting Abilify. It had already been pretty low for a few years, except when hypomanic. It could be Abilify, I'm not sure. My klonopin has been increased and it could be that as well. But I think it's meds regardless.

Is it worth it? I really couldn't say. I'd get off the Abilify, but it's the only med that has kept me stable. My hope is that it will return, and not just when hypomanic. Though it didn't happen the last time I was hypo (wasn't euphoric like usual that time, it was just lack of sleep and an extreme increase in energy). I hope, I hope, I hope... What else can I do?

This describes me perfectly. I knew I needed to get hypersexuality under once dx but I was scared of what that would do. I am on Lamictal and, thankfully, still have a healty sex drive. It is still much stronger than my husbands but at least I'm able to handle that better.
