I need help suggestions anything. I'm on disability and on limited income. I had to buy a car so now my income is really tight. I ran out of money before end of month and needed my phone for this part time job which I'm not ready to work. I'm in the middle of ECT tx and med changes.
I called a loan place and they approved me over the phone for $500. The process so was so quick they didn't explain anything to me they just kept saying click here and click next so I kept doing that the next thing you know I looked at the terms after the fact and to pay back a $500 loan I have to pay a total of $2000. I'm franctic. What did I do????? I feel like checking out over this . I'm so overwhelmed. I feel like a need a social worker or case manager to help me with my finances. Any suggestions??? I did file a complaint with the consumer protection agency. yes I have a responsibility but I admit it I'm not stable. I feel ungrounded and want to check out over my finances. I need help!!!! What do I do???? I felt very rushed through the process and taking advantage of. The fact is I'm not normal. I have Bipolar right in the middle of treatment. I feel devastated and so alone. Help!!!!! |

I don't know what's available to you in terms of assistance with something like this. And the sad fact may be there's not going to be anything you can do about it. I don't know. Here where I live, I think I would contact the state attorney general's office. If this is an option for you, you'd want to make sure they are aware you have a disability & are receiving disability benefits. Your state's attorney general's office may or may not help you. But it may be a place to start. (If they say they can't help you, ask them who can.)
Another thought would be to find out what branch of state government regulates these kinds of operations in your state & contact them. Beyond that, if there are any disability rights organizations where you live, you might try contacting them as well. I do believe, again where I live, there is a law that gives a consumer a period of time, after they sign a contract, to cancel the deal. But I don't know how long the "grace period" is or if something such as that would apply in a case like this. This would be something you could presumably check out with your state's attorney general's office I would imagine. What you need to do is probably to find some agency or organization that has the clout to make these pirates see the error of their way in your particular situation. In the end, all of this may or may not help. But it's what I can think of. Hopefully some other members will have some helpful suggestions. Good luck with it. If you are feeling as though you want to "check out' over this please reach out, in real life, for mental health assistance. I wish you well... ![]() |

I recieved an offer of a credit card while being a little aliquorated.
I was bored and filled out. When I read the terms next morning, I called and forcefully cancelled it. Threating them with usury against an unstable senior citizen. Two aggravants. They promised to ruin my credit. I promised to sue them. At the end of like an hour fighting, they cancelled the dam card. Still not giving warranty that they won't touch my credit. They never did. They know better that fighting with a crazy old man. In your case, money exchanged hands. I'm alien to that situation. My advice would be to make an appointment with a lawyer. 99% of the time, the first consultation is a freeby. Good luck. Cheers.
