For a week -maybe two- my abdomen has been twitching/spasming big time. You can see it from the outside and it goes on and on. It reminds me of pregnancy but yeah- I'm not pregnant. I guess its a side effect of Seroquel? I see pdoc in 2 weeks so hopefully I'm switching to Haldol and thetwitching will go away. (I hope!)

I have been on both regular release and extended release Seroquel and never had that side effect happen to me. The ER version makes me too tired throughout the day, the regular version just knocks me out at night and helps with the mania, but you are on a high dose too...maybe too high? If you've had that happen since you started Seroquel and nothing else has changed, I'd give your pdoc a call and not wait it out another 2 weeks. Pdoc (both old and new) have always checked me for hand and tongue tremors while on Seroquel though.

I've had various twitches on occasion my whole life (under my eyes, on my arm, leg). I recall when lying down seeing a little twitch below my rib cage near my tummy. I thought it was just a twitch or some pulsing artery. It would stop. That was maybe even pre-medications. Are you 100% sure Seroquel is the culprit? Would you like to go off it even if it isn't?

I don't know. I had wondered too if I'm overworking the muscles in judo. Im fine with Seroquil but pnurse did say something about switching me to Haldol and that Seroquel was only temporary.

I hope that if you're switched to Haldol it works out for you. From your signature it looks like you've had some major episodes recently. I hope you're doing better now.

I'm no doctor, but I used to be extremely athletic in my younger years. Muscle spasms (including Charlie horses) and twitches can result from serious or suddenly major increased exercise, I believe. They did in some cases for me. Be sure to fill up on electrolytes if you need them.

And it also seems like your pdoc put you quickly from a low to very high dose of Seroquel? That could have something to do with it too. Maybe it's too fast a jump?

And yeah, if you've increased exercise during that time period, it could be your body only now having a chance to catch up and feel the effects of the physical activity. I excessively ran with bad anorexia (we're talking weighing 80 lb. type anorexia), but I didn't feel the total, complete exhaustion until I stopped the running and decided I was tired of the nonstop 24/7 food/exercise regimen, and then it was like BAM! Everything hit at once. I hurt all over, was so sleepy, all I could do was sleep all day and that was before I got on sleep & depression medication.

Just curious about this. Are you still having the muscle spasms?

I haven't had any today. Hmmm. (Went to judo.) Wonder if I will tomorrow. We even did situps, pushups, this thing that was like a push up but you shook hands during it... All belly muscle working.
