When I'm stable, my pdoc lets me go 3-4 months in between appointments, but when I'm unwell or we're changing med dosages, it's every 4 weeks.

Every 2-3 weeks except for when she was on vacation. It may go down to monthly or less in time, I was in crisis for a while. She does phone changes but is going to charge.

Keep in mind my diagnosis is only a few months at this time, but I go in once a month.

I'm in Scotland.... I see my Psychiatrist every 6 months has been like this for about 4 years (I was diagnosed 8 years ago) prior to them I saw them every 3 months prior to that every 2 months.

Through every state (mania, depression and stability) it's been the above.

However I'm manic at the moment and he's seeing me in 2-3 months.

My CPN (Community Psychiatric Nurse) is going to see me every 3 weeks instead of 4 plus weeks and I see my Community Support Worker weekly. My CPN has moved my appointment to next week which I'm not looking forward to

Thanks to everyone for sharing! There seems to be three major responses, with several peoples' experiences in one of each three.

Miss Laura, I'm curious about what the Community Support Worker does for you, and the Community Psychiatric Nurse's role as opposed to your psychiatrist. I'm very interested in how mental health support varies in various countries around the world.

I was going every 3 months but I've been pretty stable so we went 6 months this time. I'm to call if needed in between

Hey a CPN is kinda like the middle person between the psychiatrist and your GP. I see her monthly for an hour and we discuss how I'm getting on any problems with symptoms or meds etc. They to begin with give you loads of info on bipolar then take it from there

A Community Support Worker is someone who visits you out in the community. I suffer from social anxiety so we meet in town and have a chat. She is aware of your symptoms and everything as bout CSW and CPN talk regularly with my Psychiatrist as they all work in the same department. Plus they write reports on my visit.

I requested extra support and got the CSW..But was allocated a CPN from my Psychiatrist

Usually every three months. One month if I'm unstable or starting a new med. We'd probably could go longer but I can only get my sleep med script for 90 days.
