If your Seroquel stopped working what did you use instead?

They keep upping mine until it did work. I haven't had it months because they switched me to something else because they thought they should in hospital and now to vraylar. I swear it's addictive. I miss it. I still have some but I'm afraid to take even one because I know how I felt getting off of it

I take 600 mg Seroquel XR. It works almost all of the time to help me sleep. On a rare occasion, I get 3 to 5 hours only, but only if my mood sky rockets or my anxiety does. That usually only lasts a night or two max. I usually add another 50 mg briefly and it passes.

Eventually 800 mg at peak. My blood pressure was dropping to dangerous levels so we couldn't keep it there. Systolic under 80 is a problem, especially considering my heart rate shot up to around 200 to try to keep blood flowing. My resting heart rate is under 60

My dose is currently 550mg. I need to practice good sleep hygiene to get the amount of hours of sleep I need.

Goals, what is your dose now?

Low dose (25-50 mg) stopped working for me ages ago. Seroquel 300 mg stopped, but I was getting more manic. My dose was upped to 400 mg. The pdoc added clonidine & propranolol too.

Before that, I took trazodone & hydroxyzine, but I couldn't take more than 100 mg of trazodone at night without feeling hungover until around 3, 4 PM each day. That's why the hydroxyzine was added. I noticed the hydroxyzine helped me fall asleep faster (much, much faster) than trazodone alone & the trazodone kept me sleeping, for the most part. But that stopped working for me, I got very manic, pdoc started me on Seroquel.

I use it at 50mg but with 3mg Lunesta and sometimes 1mg Xanax (which I feel guilty about)--so that's a lot. It was the Lunesta (alone) that wasn't working without the Seroquel boost. If I had enough I would choose to up the Seroquel as opposed to the others on some not very often nights. But most nights I sleep like a baby.

Yes, I have added Trazodone 25 mg, 50 mg would work better but starts to zombify me. Pdoc says I can add hydroxyzine if need be. He already prescribes it for anxiety, but I tend to use less than what is prescribed due to the sedatating effect.

One time, I was able to actually function on 200 mg of Trazodone for sleep, also 100 mg with 50 mg of hydroxyzine, but that much Trazodone is too much for me relight now. Maybe the Clonidine is supposed to make me tired? Not sure if that is a sleeping or anxiety med or both.
