It has taken me nearly 20 years (though to be sure it's been an on/off thing), but I think I have finally find a T who can help me and that I can make progress with.

I never connected with any past T, but I am realizing I got dealt a pretty bad hand of therapists when I needed a therapist to say after the first couple visits something like what my T said "OK. This is my plan to help you, and this is how we're going to do it."

The T helped me feel like I'm a better mom than I thought though I can do better, but I need to realize not even the best mom is perfect. I'm a perfectionist, and this is not at all helpful to parenting. She also helped me see how a parenting incident yesterday connected to my childhood in so many ways I never would have realized.
